About the Role
As a Network Testing Engineer, you will work remotely from India while collaborating with Nokia's onsite teams in New Zealand. The onsite team manages physical testing equipment and network environments, while the offshore team is responsible for executing test cases, validating results, and performing initial analysis.
The role involves close coordination between offshore and onsite teams to ensure smooth execution of testing activities and timely delivery of results.
Roles & Responsibilities
Selected candidates will be responsible for:
- Execute predefined service test cases for Voice, Data, and Transport networks.
- Support regression testing and post-test validation.
- Capture logs, protocol traces, and packet captures.
- Perform basic analysis of logs and identify failures or network issues.
- Assist in defect reproduction and validation.
- Update test execution reports and documentation.
- Coordinate with onsite teams for testing schedules and execution.
- Handle multiple testing activities with proper prioritization.
- Follow Nokia's testing processes and quality standards.
Required Qualifications
Candidates should have:
- Bachelor's Degree in Engineering.
- Freshers or candidates with 2–3 years of experience in telecom network operations.
- Good understanding of telecom and computer networking concepts.
- Knowledge of TCP/IP, OSI Model, DNS, routing basics, and networking fundamentals.
- Good communication and documentation skills.
- Ability to collaborate with global offshore and onsite teams.
Preferred Skills
Candidates having the following skills will have an added advantage:
- Knowledge of Wireshark or tcpdump.
- Basic understanding of VoIP and SIP protocols.
- Experience with Jira, HP ALM, or Quality Center.
- Basic Linux command-line knowledge.
- Familiarity with VPNs and remote server environments.
- Basic Python programming.
- Understanding of Automation and CI/CD concepts.
- Interest in network troubleshooting and protocol analysis.
